Advantages: Good in most conditions, last for ages.

Disadvantages: Not suprisingly, they're not very good on gravel, and not very confidence inspiring

As most riders will know, the tyres really make or break the bike. A bad set of tyres can really mess up the handling, make the bike feel unstable in the bends or really poor in the wet. A good set of tyres, to me at least, is a set that is outstanding on every road surface that you can throw at them.

The BT020s fall into the latter catagory. They are superb on dry twisties, just as they are in the wet, and they're good touring tyres too, thanks to the relatively hard compound. They seem to last a good length of time, unfortunately I managed about 4000 miles before getting punctures, but they were nowhere near the end of their lifespan.

The funny thing with these Bridgestones is that they don't really feel special, or particularly confidence inspiring, they just seem to get on with the task at hand. I liked them, but I've gotta be honest, I didn't love them. I had them on a BMW R1150r, which just about matches these tyres perfectly. Both are understated and refined workhorses, however neither would win many competitions.

I never had any issues with them, they seem pretty surefooted on just about all road surfaces, though of course being of a "cut slick" type design, they're nice and quiet, but of course the sacrifice is that they're not all that fond of loose gravel. That said though, I've certainly seen worse.

Not that it matters to most, but the tread pattern on these looks pretty cool too! The annoying thing at times is that the cuts are quite narrow, and so flicking the odd stone out can be a bit of a struggle.

So there you go, they're really just a tyre to buy and forget about, a good tyre for those who don't think too much about tyre choices. You won't be disappointed, though you won't be getting to excited about them.

Summary: If you get a set, you won't be disappointed, though they're nothing special.
