Recommended, with caveats (Aprilia Habana 50)

Advantages: stylish, cool

Disadvantages: wide, badly designed wiring, squeaky brakes

I have had the Aprilia Mojito Custom 50cc (in retro blue and white) for just over a year now, and overall I would have to say I really enjoy it.

Positives: speed is ample for London traffic, absolutely stunning and stylish to look at and overall good fun.

Negatives: the wiring to the speedometer/odometer frequently comes disconnected. I have had this fixed a couple of times already and the mechanic has said he gets in a couple of Aprilias a week with this same problem - it is a design fault. Secondly, the brakes squeak and no matter what we have done they continue to do so. I have given up trying to fix them!. Thirdly, this is a wide bike - mostly in the handlebars. Normally I wouldn't say this is a problem, in fact I like this feeling when driving it as it feels more substantial, however when you are trying to squeeze between cars at lights on London roads, this makes it more difficult than other bikes such as Vespas which are a bit narrower.

Now, I am not saying the negatives override the positives - in fact, I love the retro styling so much I would be loathe to give it up. But keep in mind these problems when you are shopping around.
