I have owned my RS250 from new since 1996, in that time I have done over 15,000 trouble free miles, I have thrashed the life out of it almost every time I ride it, in the past I have used it for commuting in all weathers, on a 600mile + rain soaked trip to Assen it never missed a beat, it is now however semi-retired as a classic and only gets out now and then. In the 13 years I have owned it it has cost me a front brakelight switch, 1 set of rear pads( yes the fronts are the originals! ), two sets of plugs two batteries one chain and sprocket kit and three sets of tyres, it has never had a rebuild of any kind although I admit it should probably have one in the interest ... I thought I had better share my brief affair of 6 months with a 1995 Aprilia RS250. I am not going to bother going through the specs - you can get that info from numerous websites. When reading reviews it is important to understand what the product is like to live with on a daily basis and find out what it does well and what it doesn't do so well. so....................... I bought one just for a bit of fun over the summer months - and what a big mistake it was. Riding the RS gives you horns, the handling is phenomenal. It is just so light and flickable that twisty roads are a pleasure. The tyre stick like the proverbial to the shovel ... Read the complete review

I originaly purchased my 2001 RS250 as a first bike to get the hang of riding something somewhat powerful. 5 Years and 1 rebuild down the track, you guessed it. I simply can't part from this awsome machine, I have attempted to sell it 3 times, and everytime I find myself retracting the sale. From the second you start the RS250, you smell that 2 stroke and get an automatic sense just how much power this thing produces for its size. Thepowerful Brembo front / rear brakes, the high quality swing arm, the race bred tacho and digital speedo really make you feel like getting on the track. Spare parts are I admit expensive, but as most Aprilia ... Read the complete review

I had one of the first RS250's - I think Jan '95 in the reggiani colours. A brilliant bike. Die hard big 4-stroke riders will complain about the relative discomfort on long rides, and the lack of grunt for easy motorway riding. Personally this was not a problem for me, and I happily racked up thousands of miles in the first year of ownership. But of course the bike is not desinged with the M25 in mind. Roundabouts are great! I went on my first track day with the bike, and the lean angles possible really make you fell like Kevin Schwantz only better. Corner speed is not a problem, and with manageable power, getting on the gas ... Read the complete review
