Advantages: Get the Mile-r no question
Disadvantages: suspension brakes on standard
Hi I rode the two bikes back to back 10th June 2000. Engine, Both have the same engine with no changes, both the bikes have a grunty 1000 60% v twin layout. The bikes rev up to around 10K, I found myself running out of revs on a couple of overtakes but theta might just me more use to my Blade. The engines were not as quick as the Blade and it showed but they claim 128BHP. My arse measurement device felt it was a bit less. Suspension, Like chalk and cheese. The Mie l-r comes with full Olins race spec stuff front and back and wow we it’s like being on a magic carpet. The standard was much to soft diving under barking and wallowing in knee down roundabout moves. Finish, It’s an Italian susperbike, Good but best keep it clean I would say. Brakes, The full race Bremo’s with braided hoses on the Mile-r are worth every penny extra. The standard nothing special with to much lever travel. Corning. The Standard with it’s soft suspension and high riding position and indifferent brakes was hard work and never inspired confidence, were as the Mile-R with it’s lightweight wheels, braided hoses and Races suspension was terrific. Turning in on a sixpence and dealing with all the corning forces with ease.
