Aprilia RX 50 ... this bike last year for £1100 as an 07 plate. Thought at the time it was a good price, and in some ways in turned out to be. Bike has always ran well and been able to reach good speeds at around 60mph with just the standard peices and only restrictor removed. Has always served me well, and started first time. Only more recently have I found any problem, as it now doesnt start as well, and have had numerous problems with the electrics on the bike, with them cutting out, or some things not working. Have tried to get this sorted but, a bit if rain and everything seems to fail again. Overall I am really happy with the bike that i bought, but cant be sure if this is a ... Aprilia RX 125 ... is a nice bike to ride on the road. It handles very well. I bought one six weeks ago and have run it in well. I took it off road for the first time the other day and burnt the clutch out. I wasn t doing anything I haven t done before. I had a YZ 125 not so long ago and that never failed.The RX has plenty of power for the road but I don t really think it has enough power to be climbing steep stoney climbs off road. Hence why the clutch got a good hammering. All other off road terrain the RX handles well. I ve never known a clutch to go so fast before. Aprilia RS250 ... get problems with the carbs, the bike is still in fantastic original condition (bar a few scratches and chips from use) and all I do to keep it this way is wash it regularly with heavy duty truck wash (especially after riding in bad weather) followed by a wax shampoo and use spray protectors to vulnerable parts, It s lucky if it gets polished twice a year, a friend of mine is involved with club Aprilia (uk owners club) and has in the past asked me to let them show it at the N.E.C. to demonstrate how good Aprilias can be. So to destroy a couple of myths...... it s unreliable........ It is a very high performance v-twin 2-stroke not a 1000/4, it will need more care and...
