Advantages: great top speed, cheap to run, looks, fun

Disadvantages: handling on corners

Purchased the 125FX model on an X plate2000 in 2004 with just 37 miles on the clock, believebly the 1st owner came off it leaving the dealers. Then would not get back on it, so in the end it was auctioned off an the guy who bought it was restoring a house an kept it in the living room for 3 years till he finally got roind to the new pannels ect. but when i bought it it was as new still with the red line in the tyres. good deal i would say!!!

Rode it for 1 year till my insurence ended knockin up 9000miles,then got a partner that drove an ended up takin it off road leaving it in the back garden totally uncovered, well recently i decided to get it back on the road so i cut a path thro the 4 foot high weeds to get to the bike, pulled all the weeds from off the bike put my key in an lo an behold the first time in 3 years an it started straight up didnt even need to use the kick start. so much faith in this bike now i love it to bits. gave it a good wash an came up like new again, booked it in for an MOT an the followin day i picked it up costing me under £100 for the MOT with 2 new tyres and a new fuse or somthing that had gone and was stoppin my brake light from coming on with the left brake handle.

as for the ride i find it so comfotable love the speed element of it,
totally standard even with the rusty exhaust it will reach 70mph on the flat but as yet to exceed that, down hill it does increase not by all that much tho! weather ur doin comfotable 60 or a steady30 when u twist the throttle this bike sill responds great, enough to over take with ease
my brother has got a corsa sri 2001new shape with some upgraded engin parts an £700 sports exhaust, i love the fact i can out run him from stood to 70 mph every time he tries.
i am yet to be beaten on any other 125 bike at the lights an on the top end including geared.

drivin as i like to i get usually 100 miles to a full tank tho i always fill up before i get seriously low costin at the min around £10. Would confidently say tho i could get prob 130/40 if driven like i wasnt late for somthing all the time. oil wise i use a middle range oil from the local bike shop costin around 7.50 a litre which i buy 1once every 3 times of fillin up

the bike does not care if its cold or wet, driving to an from work at midnigtht an 6am,it still performs the same without fail, tho i personally feel the longer ive been driving it the the more responsive it becomes (gets faster off the mark).

the only downfall i feel these bikes have an think it must be on all gilera runners as have had two 50cc's and rode the 4 stoke is the cornering, i always have to slow right down to go round them, even major roundabouts with 2 lanes at 6 am when i can use both lanes to make it as straight a corner as poss it is hard to get round them at any speed if u try taking them too fast it jus doesnt want to turn an forces u over. I personally jus dont feel i can lean into the corners like a want to at speed (seem to get so far an then feel like it wants to tip over even with 2 new tyres
Many times i have tried goin to fast an ended up veerin into the next lane where there happenes to be a car an it is quite scary this especially when its wet or icy.
Saying this tho once u get used to knowing ur limitation on cornering speeds u dont so much mind it a i jus think oh well it perfoms so well on every other factor.

Overall i love this bike to bits an would hate to have to get rid its jus so much fun, looks great, cheap to run, and mostly so fast recommmend 1 to any1
