Advantages: Ideal Commuter or Long Distance scooter, Boy racer meets scooter, Ideal 17 year old scooter
Disadvantages: Not very Practical, Easy to fall off in bad conditions, watch out!
ive just recently got a Runner 125, and it is amazing, its the scooter which thinks its a motorcycle, it is designed for the most demanding of young sporty drivers, and that is what it is, it demands you to ride it (if you dare) and it is the most sporty scooter on the market. Gilera is one of only a few manufacturers to step out of the norm, and into something better. This sports scooter uses a motorcycle-type frame that really helps the handling, but looses its practicality. It rides like a motorcycle, it is stable with lots of power and great acceleration. It is much lighter than it looks and now features right way up forks, which helps the handling. A great thing about the crop of Runners is that they all come with a 12 litre tank, which means if you only use it to go to work and back, you will only have to fill up once a week. Also this scooter has great road presence, and it enjoys the occational trip to the ilse of Man for the weekend(As i have found out). The 125 comes in many colours, and you even have a choice of a 2-stroke or the slightly more expensive 4-stroke. The 125sp (2-stroke) costs only £2149 while the 125VX (4 stroke) costs £2299. Although the VX has less power, it is much more economical, and cheaper in the long run, because you dont need to keep filling up with 2-stroke oil every week. Overall this is a great bike, if you are 17, and havent got the money to get a car, but want to go fast, this is the scooter for you, now with £200 taken off the cost of insurance if you are 16-24, which should tempt you a little more, and even if you are over 25, the insurance wont be much. A top speed of 75mph, and if you weigh something like 12 stone, or even lighter then you can expect it to hit 0-60 in about 6.1 seconds, which means out accelerating boy racers and the occational porche would be a breeze. Just remember to slow down occationaly to get those all im
portant glances.
