Advantages: MPG, COST, good position for commuting
Disadvantages: not a fireblade, thin tyres
I have the 2002 version. The bike is simple "it does exactly what it say on the tin", it is difficult to fault. It's mpg is good, cheap to purchase/Insure etc etc. Before buying i read the opinions and was a little confused over performance. Clearly this isn't the main reason for buying a CG125 but still if your like me you are still curious. It pulls fifty with ease and sixty with not much more effort, seventy is acheievable but up and beyond this a hill and favourable wind is required. People registering 90 should get the speedo fixed! (i am 14stone by the way) The bike handles well but the tyres although appropriate are a little on the slender side. Mirrors are useable (unlike the sr125) and the controls are simple. Only gripe would be the gear peg is not designed for those with large hooves (size 12) Overall v.good bike doesn't try and be something else: GZ 125 VL 125 honda shadow etc Or cost a bundle on insurance: Aprilla SR125 (fast and fun) Cagiva Mito 125 (can hit 100mph) Incidentally the new cost of one is only £1750 and you get two years warranty and a good level of AA cover for the same period, so dont pay too much for a used one.
