Tyres, Chain and Sprockets, 1 fork seal (stone chip). One thing I would highly recommend is a rear hugger. I never got one and my rear shock has become very badly worn/rusted. I kick myself to this day over that. But never mind. If you're looking for your first bike this is a great machine to go for. But I know lots of experi...more

Premium Review Honda Hornet CB600F (416 words)

Rating:

I bought my Honda Hornet CB600F just over a year ago now, i paid only £4,150 on the road for it. I chose the Blue one as the Yellow and Red ones did not look all that nice. One of the selling points for me was the Fireblade rear wheel (nice and wide). The Hornet gets to 100mph in 3rd gear, which aint all that bad, but the top end is only 132mph although I've had the clock reading 155mph (I did this on a private strip of land ok - Honestly). I found the bike loves to sit up on the rear wheel (a wheelie) and stop with it in the air (an endo), this bike rides and handles extremely well. Good mods. for the little tyke are:- The first thing any ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Brilliant Commuter - Apart from the exhaust (167 words)

I spent a day riding a nearly new one of these when my Firestorm was put in for a service. I was surprised at what a competent commuter machine this was. Only having only ridden a few other unfaired retro type bikes (most with much lower spec engines) I impressed with how quick the Hornet was. The high bars and comfy riding position immediately put me at ease and the exhaust whizz was a treat for me being the owner of a big V-twin. The Hornet is quick, but you have to keep it on the boil, the electric blue one that I rode looked great too and the high level exhaust does wonders for the bike's looks. However, this made strapping a tail pack onto the pillion seat a ...  Read the complete review

I bought my Hornet straight after passing my test and have since don 17,000 miles on it. (£3800 brand new OTR) - Great deal! I still love it to this day and have found it great fun as well as reliable and I get lots of comments on what a nice bike it is. Like most people, I find the fuel tank range a bit limiting and being a retro bike the wind at 90mph+ can be a bit much. Luckily our laws prevent us doing that speed. Premium Review Hornet Rocks (171 words)

Rating:

I've had a Hornet 4 years now from new. I've had no problems at all with it. The build is excellent. My mates got a Suzuki Bandit and side by side the Hornets superier build really shows. I use mine every day to commute in all weathers and it has not a spot of rust. the pillion is comfortable, Mrs Random has ridden on the back for miles with no complaints. I paid £4200 for it in 1999. The engine is a tried and tested CBR600 and it packs a punch, coupled with tyres straight from the Fireblade. I've seen press reviews complaining of poor brakes, I can't say I've had any cause for complaint, my mechanic reckons you can put CBR600 pads in it to ...  Read the complete review
