Advantages: Best 600cc All Rounder

Disadvantages: Top speed / small Fuel tank

I bought my Honda Hornet CB600F just over a year ago now, i paid only £4,150 on the road for it. I chose the Blue one as the Yellow and Red ones did not look all that nice.
One of the selling points for me was the Fireblade rear wheel (nice and wide).
The Hornet gets to 100mph in 3rd gear, which aint all that bad, but the top end is only 132mph although I've had the clock reading 155mph (I did this on a private strip of land ok - Honestly).
I found the bike loves to sit up on the rear wheel (a wheelie) and stop with it in the air (an endo), this bike rides and handles extremely well.

Good mods. for the little tyke are:-

The first thing any Hornet owner should do is take hold of 1 x Steel ruler, 1 x Sharp Stanley knife = CUT OFF!! the excess plastic under the number plate, which is blocking off the view of all that RUBBER! (Please do a neat & tidy job though)

Twin tailpipe mod - which will set you back about £530, but worth it as it adds up to 6bhp and it looks the Business.

Next up is a Colour coded rear wheel HUGGER, this can prevent loads of the old dirt from ruining your bike, but they're mainly needed again for the looks.

In my opinion the Hornet is probably the best bike for anyone who has just past their test as it looks hard, handles superbly (with ease), 0-60mph = 3.6 (my personal best) and its just so easy to ride.

The engines are from the CBR600F two years previous, but they are de-tuned for more lower end torque and reliability, these engines are built to take plenty of hammer.

One down side to the Hornet is the gearbox, to change gear whilst carry a pillion is an art, it really does jerk the passenger about, I find it best just to forget the clutch whilst carrying. the gearbox also rattles a little when the bike is stood ticking over but goes away when you engage the clutch.

How would i best describe this bike - If you where outside a football game, all the fireblades, Z
ZR's, R1's etc would be quietly queing, whilst the Hornet would be the Noisy, abuse throwing bulldog at the back - getting all the attention (its a hidden rebel).
