Advantages: Low cost Brand new, Best looking Retro

Disadvantages: Fuel tank range

I bought my Hornet straight after passing my test and have since don 17,000 miles on it. (£3800 brand new OTR) - Great deal!

I still love it to this day and have found it great fun as well as reliable and I get lots of comments on what a nice bike it is.

Like most people, I find the fuel tank range a bit limiting and being a retro bike the wind at 90mph+ can be a bit much. Luckily our laws prevent us doing that speed.

Since I have had it, I have only had to replace the usual things. Tyres, Chain and Sprockets, 1 fork seal (stone chip).

One thing I would highly recommend is a rear hugger. I never got one and my rear shock has become very badly worn/rusted. I kick myself to this day over that. But never mind.

If you're looking for your first bike this is a great machine to go for. But I know lots of experienced riders also love the Hornet 900.

Welcome to dooyoo with a nice first review. A tad more info would have been nice. Do have a read around and enjoy our friendly site. :-)

I ride one of these too, but you do not say if you have the 600cc or the 250??
Sorry for the su but you do not really go into any detail about the bike. I would also suggest that a Hornet is not perhaps the most forgiving bike for someone who has just passed their test.
