Brilliant Commuter - Apart from the exhaust (Honda Hornet CB600F)
Member Name: Rabbitson
Advantages: Looks good, quick for a commuter Disadvantages: Tank range, High speed commuting limited by lack of fairing
I spent a day riding a nearly new one of these when my Firestorm was put in for a service. I was surprised at what a competent commuter machine this was. Only having only ridden a few other unfaired retro type bikes (most with much lower spec engines) I impressed with how quick the Hornet was. The high bars and comfy riding position immediately put me at ease and the exhaust whizz was a treat for me being the owner of a big V-twin. The Hornet is quick, but you have to keep it on the boil, the electric blue one that I rode looked great too and the high level exhaust does wonders for the bike's looks. However, this made strapping a tail pack onto the pillion seat a no-go, which I guess is a real minus for a bike like this. The tank range was poor and high speed motorway trips can be a bit unerving if you're used to a faired sportsbike. Summary: |
