Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R: ... bike is tremendous. I had an early B1 model, now even though it was one of the heaviest bikes in its class and underpowered as a suprbike it could hold its own with an exhaust and filter upgrade. It ll only pull around 160-170 mph. I wanted it for its speed and to carry 2comfort. It was at ease with 2 people on it once the rear shock was tweaked up and it was still very stable through the corners and under braki...

... as these forums helped me pick my bike I thought I should contribute. 12 years driving poxy little Fiestas and Puntos = total lack of enjoyment. 1 month owning second hand ZX6R 2001 J1 = Yeeeeehaaaaaaa! Despite being a "sports" bike this machine is fine for people returning to 2 wheels. Just be careful with the throttle, as illegal speeds approach before you realise. £2100 for a nice machine with 12 000 on the clock. Issues: carburretion (I think) as it sometimes when warmed up after a long run. E.g long run, stop to fill up, restart, stall a few times unless you let it run for 2 mins. Think carbs might be in needd of cleaning or old fule still in there...

... is the Kawasaki Versys a relatively new offering from those Kawaski people. Its a 650cc water cooled twin cylinder which can be slotted into the all rounder bike category. It uses the ER6 engine in a larger trailie stlyled frame so if you are under 5 7" tall be careful. It has long travel suspension and the engine is tuned to mid range in the useful 40 to 75 mph range. I will do up to 115 mph where the law allows you to do so, but this is no sports bike. The tank will see you do 200 miles between refills and in these days of inflationary petrol costs thats no bad thing. Styling is something you ll love or hate - I love it - it sort of grows on you and I like t...

... Sleek curves, a big mean looking headlight, and a nice shiny paint job, the Kawasaki GPZ 500 sure does look like a stunner! as mentioned above, this is a very good looking bike, my specific one has a red and silver paint job and I must say that this does look the part. Most people cannot decide wether this is a sports bike or a touring bike, in my own personal opinion this is a bike designed for touring, with 4 cargo net hooks underneath the back seat, a nice comfy riding position and a nice biggish seat for a pillion. This bike is absolutely perfect for buzzing through town or zipping round little country lanes, this is mostly due to it not being a ver...
