Advantages: Looks, sound, high speed stability
Disadvantages: weight
The Guzzi 1100 Sport is summed up by that one word - character. This could mean dodgy electrics, awesome unreliabilty or bad finish, but in the case of the 1100 sport (in all it's incarnations) it means fast, stable and handsome. Admitedly, it wouldn't keep up with a well ridden Japanese 600 on the twisties but that's not what it's for! Show it a sweeping A road and it more than makes up for its weight disadvantage. And if you get the later injection model it has the sort of torque "curve" that shows frantic gear changing is not going to be necessary. It has the Guzzi torque reaction (although much less than some I've ridden!) which takes a bit of getting used to, but it doesn't squat in the same way as older Guzzis did under acceleration. And reaching licence shredding speeds is incredibly quick - quicker than a 600 race rep - and the bellow it makes while getting there makes you think "I'm on a proper bike"...
