Advantages: Great fun sons never get bored of it, girls like it too
Disadvantages: Pricey, but a great investment
For our sons Christmas we decided to buy them a quad bike between them. They are 10 & 6.5. We bought the New Millenium edition, yellow & black. The safety aspect for younger drivers or who are learning, you can put a control on the throttle. Iit makes the bike much slower letting the young rider gain experience how to handle the bike. You really need to have wide open space to use the bike as not allowed on the road. We use my husbands families farm, great for using on the grass. Adults can use this bike too. My husband and I have both had a go great fun and can go fast if you want it to, you just need to adjust a pin, which needs a screwdriver to alter the throttle. It is an 80cc engine using 2 stroke. We wanted to buy a second hand bike but there was nothing available. The price was not much less for a second hand bike, meaning the quad keeps its value well. My sons friends have all had a shot and they think its "ACE" You must buy a helmet for a bike like this, a proper motorbike helmet, as the bike can go fast. It has safety guide on the bike, not to be riden pillion either. We shopped around saved ourselves £400 by going to Perth £1450 pricey but a good investment for our sons.

- 15/12/00 You cannot ride pillion on this bike, not safe it has a warning on the bike about this |

- 20/11/00 Hope you are still getting as much enjoyment out of this as the boys are Dawn. Why no comment on the pillion position? |

- 24/09/00 Oh I forgot to say; good point made about the helmet, but I would say it is also important for your children to wear body armour to protect their chest. Our children also have proper racing boots, gloves and goggles. |
