I've been motocross riding for approx 5 yrs now, I started with a late 80's YZ250 bought for £450, I spent as much again in buying parts and repairing the thing. From there I moved down to a KX125 for a bit then a nmid 90's YZ250 and gently learn't my craft - only costing me 1 broken collar bone. When you ride at a track 125 strokers (2-stroke bikes) make one sound and 250's another - then you hear a big 4 stroke bike, and are blown away by the sound - I had to have one. I found a 99 bike that needed a bit of TLC, and drove 225 miles (each way) to get it - they are like Hen's teeth (new or secondhand). Motocross bikes ... Read the complete review

My first trail bike was a DT175. For a couple of hundred pounds, I had a superb little machine that thrived on mud and utter neglect. Being a two stroke, with minimal weight or much power, it could be thrown into off-road adventures with total abandon, and survived countless minor crashes. I have tried to play in the mud on my present machine, a BMW F650, but the pleasure does not compare. When the BMW goes over, a big heave is needed to get it up again, and there is a constant fear that expensive bits might have been totalled even after a soft landing. With the DT, no such worries, and if anything the dings in the tank and general scrapes added more ... Read the complete review

For christmas this year i bought my son a PW80 this was the best thing i could ever have bought for him, he loves motorbikes and had kept on since he was three for one. We all have so much fun on it we have taken it on holiday to the sea side and most weekends to waste land by where we live to ride it. it has three gears which my son mastered within a week it is quite a quiet bike upto others and handles realy well. Any one considering buying their child a first bike i would recoment this one. The only problem we have now, is who rides it first mum or aaron, mum always wins. ... Read the complete review

Like the vast majority of riders, I passed my test on my driving school's crappy little 125. It was 6 years old and after God knows how many lunatics learning to ride, wasn't up to much good. When I passed my test I bought a Yamaha RD250. It was 22 years old and I paid £250 for it. It was in fairly good nick and it was love at first sight. All my friends had told me not to buy anything too expensive whilst I was still finding my feet and not to buy anything that was so heavy that I couldn't pick it up. I followed this advice and chose the RD250. I never had anything but problems. It wasn't the bike's fault, it was just ... Read the complete review

To me the best lower class 2 stroke on the market.I had one about 3 years ago and i was very impressed with its performance, the handling one mine was next to nothing, once i hit about 6k on the rev conter that was it the power valve kicked in and it shot you back on your seat.for a 350 on a C it was powerful it s speed went off the clocks. i bought it from wales so i had fun on the roads coming home, plenty of winding roads to test the handling on. I had many a pleaserable time on it. Been over 'winter hill'which near to Bolton, good speeds over their especially towards Preston. Anyway to get to the point i would advise you if you were looking for a first (or ... Read the complete review
