Rating:

Advantages: Nice on the straight

Disadvantages: Feels topheavy when cornering

I bought a Vx800 after riding a Savage.
Now supposedly it is sort of a tourer type motorbike.

Enginewise it is like any other Suzuki, always runs, hardly need the choke.

Comfortwise I did not like it, maybe it is because I was used to Chopper/Custom type bikes that I find this one really hard to ride.
Cornering is horribe, it feels like it is topheavy and about to tip over. Even after changing the suspension and new tyres it felt really uncomfortable.

Wow...how anyone could ever complain about the handling of a VX 800 is a mystery to me! I've been riding for nearly 40 years, I was a certified Motorcycle Safety Foundation instructor,I've owned 30 different motorcycles, ridden dozens more, and I think the VX 800 is one of the best handling bikes I've ever run across! I've got 2 of them, one bone stock, and one that's had the suspension tweeked a bit. Undoubtedly, a modern all-out sport bike will out perform the VX in power and handling, but compared to a standard bike or a cruiser, the VX shines!
