I bought a TT600 new 3 years ago, after writing off a Honda CBR600 due to a car making a stupid right turn. I have no regrets, I think that it is a bike that was unfairly savaged by the press, here's how it compares to the Japanese 600s I have riden. The handling is the best of any bike I have riden, and that includes the R6, GXSR750, CBR600, ZX6R and NC30 among others. The brakes are also the best I have had the pleasure of using. The engine is peaky compared to the CBR and ZX6R, but the fueling is nowhere near as bad as the press would have you believe. It is jerky if you are riding at 2500rpm, but then how often is a 600 super-sport bike riden that slowly? It is also noticablty slower than the ZX6R, my mate can out-drag me on his Kawasaki any time, but then I am not too worried about that as I have enough points on my license already! The insurance is less than the current crop of supersport 600s, which is a factor to consider. Tyre wear and fuel consumption is par for the course. You do attract attention with a Triumph, it's up to you if you consider this a good or a bad thing. Overall the TT600 whilst not perfect is good enough to compete with the Japanese bikes in the real world, and has something that the CBR never had for me, it's a more involving ride, and much more fun. I'd recomend that anyone tries one. Or maybe the new Daytona 600.
