Triumph Thunderbird: ... of the twins. this is my first triple and i am still amazed at how good it is.the bike looks great and is a real head-turner,mechanically it is really solidly built and as for reliability mine has never let me down yet.the handling is rock steady and very forgiving even when you make a mess of the odd corner.there is a bit of an issue with wind at high speed but at normal road speeds i find no problem,80mph + fo...

wildtinsey Triumph Sprint RS
... has a 955i engine in it. A 3 cylinder so it had a nice sound to it. It is a sports riding position so can be uncomfortable for distance work as your weight is carried through your wrists. It would be good for short distance commuting through a big city as its small and nippy to squeeze through the traffic, that it the kind of commuting i do and it coped but at the end of the journey i found it tiring and will stick with the 1200cc Trophy. I think it would be quite easy to break the speed limit on it without realising as it is small light and powerful. But it does handle very well as a good sports bike should but didnt get chance to try on a track or country lanes. I wou...

wildtinsey Triumph Trophy 1200
... a big bike but I still manage to commute through the streets of London on it. It is more manoeuvrable than you expect especially as it is about 7 foot long. If you find the buffeting from the wind too much alternative wind shields/screens are available. Both genuine and non genuine can be obtained. I find the stock screen perfect though. It is fitted with chain drive which doesn't take much looking after if a scottoiler is fitted and minimal adjustments are needed. The service interval is every 6000 miles. Servicing the bike can be done by the home mechanic but there are one or two fiddly things. For instance to change the air filters the tank has to come off and most...

Vee+Reece Triumph Thunderbird Sport
... weigh 195 lbs). The seat is a little uncomfortable after more than 150 miles but by that time the T-bird is ready for some gas and you'll welcome the chance to get off and walk around a bit. It has a tendency to slide you forward toward the gas tank so watch out for the crown jewels when braking hard. The seat is also extremely difficult to take off and put back on. It thrives on twisty roads, carving corners as well as many sportbikes and will outrun most crusiers. It revs strong starting around 4000 rpm up to the redline and puts out that great Triumph-triple sound while doing so. I've also found the brakes to be quite adequate. The mirrors aren't very good un...
