yamaha 650 dragstar classic a bike to enjoy long journeys (Yamaha DragStar XVS650)
Member Name: baz collins
Advantages: low saddle height, punchy vtwin engine, comfy saddles. Disadvantages: poor ground clearance, rear wheel removal is a chore. ive owned and ridden 3 types of custom motorcycles, xv750 yam, vn750 kwak, and my present bike xvs650dragstar classic, the latter is the best custom i have ridden ,but you have to keep on top of the cleaning all year round and frequent oil changes as the air cooled motor gets very hot in slow moving traffic, most of my journeys have been with my wife as a pillion but the bike can cruise at 70-80mph and return 50-60mpg, the only gripe i can mention has to be the lack of ground clearance when cornering two up, ive fitted footboards full screen and rack and cissy bar, the paintwork is red and black and loads of chrome to polish, ive had this bike for over 5 years and would not sell it, my wife and i bought the bike on our 39th wedding anniversary and we are both in our 60,s. Summary: The best of the middleweight custom cruisers, try one you will like it.
