      Disadvantages

Outstandingly sweet motor in a taut agile frame makes the R7 a must-have! With 10,000 miles on the clock now, the bike has shown its true mettle time and time again - fast and flickable, it's an out and out ducati and r1 eater! Ignore the negative vibes from the duller elements of the biking press - the bike has been outstandingly reliable - and will be for the next 50,000 miles! The engine has a unique sound - on board it sings as the cams come on song - and if you're lucky enough enough to be passed by one of these babies (and you will) the howl it makes as it goes by is out of this world. Top marks to Yamaha for yet another characterful world-beater. The only fault it has is that the exhaust is a touch too fat and can ground out quite easily - a fault soon sorted by a custome made Johnson can. Fuel capacity is an enormous 21 litres and on a long motorway run you can do 180-190 miles easily before refuelling!
