Advantages: Funny, witty, romantic, sweet!

Disadvantages: Nothing like "The Taming of the Shrew" from which it is adapted!!

This is the typical old school film, the film I have been watching since I was 11! I'm now 20, so seeing as this film is almost 10 years old, its not doing bad!!

The film is about basically two very complicated relationships, and I will apologise now if this gets confusing!!!

Firstly we have Kat Stratford, she's the schools hard girl, nobody seems to be able to get past her frosty exterior, no boy, no girl. She has just one close friend, and a hatred for all things girly.

The theres Bianca Stratford, this is Kats younger sister, and in a ploy, her father Walter forbids her to date, until Kat dates...but as there is fat chance of Kat ever getting a date, Bianca is distraught, especially as she has the hots for Joey, the schools bad boy, who wants nothing more than to get into Bianca's knickers.

Then comes along Cameron, the new boy at school, he immediately falls for Bianca, and on learning she cannot date until Kat dates, he sets out on a mission to get Kat a date for the prom. Thats where Patrick comes into the mix.

Patrick is the bad boy, the male equivelant to Kat, but he is very much misunderstood, with many rumours swilling around about him spending his missed school year in state prison (while he was really in Oz visiting his sick nan!) and many many more, he is scary to all in the school, yet he is the chosen one to get Kat to fall for his cheeky grin.

When Joey is roped in to help Cameron out, things get messy as money exchanges hands, and fall outs happen. The film is a mix of romance, fall outs, fights, arguments and most of all love.

The film is very predictable, we know who will end up with who, and we know it will all work out in the end, but its still such an amazing film to watch!

I think my fav scene is the party scene, for anyone who has already watched it, where the "toffs" of the school are having a get together, but its hijacked by the whole school, and when the doorbell rings we hear "oh that will be the brie", and as the swarm of students run in with cases of beer, we see a man carrying a huge ring of brie at the front. I dont know what it is about that part, but it does give me the giggles everytime!!!!!!!!

The film is based on William Shakespeares "The Taming of the Shrew", and there are many references to Shakespeare in the film, with Kats best friend having a rather unhealthy obsession with him!!!!!

Now i would not recommend this film to the plays lovers, as well the fillm is very different, and the phrase I have just read in the previous review "a feature lengh Saved By the Bell" is very true!!! But, Saved by the Bell was one legendary show!!!! Haha!

I recommend the film to anybody who likes teenagey films, with comedy, romance, lust, and one liners.

It is a film for youngsters I'd say, but I am 20, and I still love the film to pieces but thats probably with growing up through it!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: An amazing heart warming film!!!
