Great Goals, Poor Presentation (100 Best F.A. Cup Goals (DVD))
Member Name: scream4bruce
Advantages: 100 goals from a few angles Disadvantages: Bland menu and music, dated history and trivia This isn't so much the best 100 F.A Cup goals in the history of the competition pre-2000, but rather, during the 90's (still, get a load of some of those shorts!). Not surprisingly, the F.A. Cup Quiz, Player Biographies, and F.A. Cup History & Trivia features are dated to various degrees. The presentation is poor - you won't miss the AXA sponsorship, the music is bland, and on replay, searching for a specific goal outside the top ten is not easy as these have been lumped together in bunches. The clips are complete with their commentaries, but as for the order of the top 100 - I find it would be difficult to pick favourites never mind agree on their order. Non-goal highlights for me were the giggles of the Arsenal players amongst the silence of the Sunderland crowd after a great goal from Dennis Bergkamp, despite their hand-over-mouth celebrations. Also, when Andy Cole scores in a counter-attack against Chelsea - look for the wee blond kid in the crowd who's intent on showing the Manchester United striker the wrist/hand gesture! This is an average DVD however, which you could probably pick up second-hand for a quid or two. Summary: 100 Best F.A. Cup Goals |
