This film is a Christmas film, so it is based al around the time of Christmas. The film starts with young Emma leaving on a train to live with other relatives, leaving her father behind, he does promise her that he will come back for her before Christmas. When she arrives at the other train station, she is greeted by lots of dogs in cages, she tries to help a young boy lift a cage down but accidentally lets the dog out of the cage. The story then changes to the lord mayor of the town giving a speech about the fact that he had promised he will get rid of all the dogs out of the town and that he will keep that promise. The town has a dog catcher that wants to catch and get rid of every dog in the town.

Just outside the town a crazy dog lady as she is known around town takes in all the dogs that she finds before the dog catcher gets hold of them, she tries to look after them and feed them well, with some locals helping her. But then the mayor decides the town is expanded and her house is now in the town so she has to get rid of the dogs, but she wont back down and get rid so the mayor resorts to cheap tricks first by cutting off her help with the locals. Also by letting some of the dogs out by cutting a hole in the fence.

Emma who finds a stray puppy who's mother has been taken has left the puppy at the woman's house to be well looked after, and her puppy is one of them that is caught by the dog catcher, so she decides to get a job with the dog catcher to try and get her dog back. She goes to work and gets her dog out of the cage, and then gets caught herself and locked in a cage, her aunty comes and gets her out, but the dog catcher remains able to do what he wants. He gets seen by Emma fighting the dogs while taking bets on them. She reports this to the mayor but he is the brother of the dog catcher and does not believe that his brother would do that. Can the mayor be convinced and will he decide to lift the dog ban, well watch the film to find out.

The acting is quite good throughout the film, there are several parts played in the film but they are all done brilliantly. The main character is Emma who is played by Jordan Claire Green, and she plays her part really well, I can not fault any part of it, and the way the dogs were in the film was also great.

I would recommend this to watch, I think it is more for kids as mine loved it, but I also watched it with them, and I enjoyed the film, it was a bit of a strange story for a film, as no town would ever ban dogs, but even though it was strange it was still good. Probably not a film I would want to watch again but it is well worth one watch
