The WWE film catalogue isn't one to be proud of. The plodding vanilla action film that was 'The Marine' was saved only by a few minor items. This is more than can be said of the frankly dire 'horror' (I use the term loosly) 'See No Evil' starring everyone's favourite childhood wrestler, 'Kane.' 'The Condemned,' starring Steve Austin was a small surprise. While it was obviously 'inspired' by far superior films such as 'Battle Royale' it also gave a few surprises and set pieces that made it worth watching. If you didn't think it could get any worse than John Cena's pretty shambolic star vehicle The Marine...then you're right. 12 Rounds is dumb, and unapologetically so (as is expected of all outings from WWE Films), serving up a slew of lengthy set pieces that are sure to keep any action fan at least intermittently entertained. Danny Fisher has chased down and captured notorious criminal Miles Jackson. Unfortunately, Jackson's lover is killed when she tries to escape. Twelve months later Jackson escapes from prison and tracks down Fisher kidnapping his girlfriend Molly and blowing up his house. This is round one of "12 Rounds", a dangerous game which Fisher must play to keep his girlfriend alive. I didn't expect much from this movie.
