I've just watched this film with four other people and, by the end, i was the only one intrigued by it. Yes, to some "it's slow and boring until it gets to the gorey bit" but really, what else are we to expect? The film follows Aron Ralston as he climbs the valleys and canyons of Utah then captures his fight for survival as his arm becomes wedged between a wall and one very big rock!
I dont know about anyone else, but this automatically tells me there's no car chases, no psycho serial killer, no epic romance and no hysterical one-liners. Its because of this that i was impressed with what they achieved. James Franco has done himself proud, Danny Boyle can boast his socks off and to all those poor camera men - Fairplay! So guys, if you're only after the gore then yes, you will be impressed, but please watch and admire the film for what it is....an admirable reflection of an unfortunate adrenaline junkie who finds himself on a a bit of a "rocky road" :)
