Advantages: Thriller/Horror, many twists

Disadvantages: Hard to Follow the story

1408 is a thriller/horror starring John Cusack and Samuel L Jackson. I believe it was a film by the legendary Stephen King.

The story is about Mike (John Cusack) who is a paranormal investigator and author who writes about his experiences at so called haunted locations. Mike is basically a non believer in paranormal activities but makes a living out of it.

One day he recieves a postcard featuring the Dolphin Hotel and the words ''Dont enter room 1408'' written on the back.

Curiosity gets the better of Mike who is determined to spend a night there to investigate.
Samuel L jackson who owns/runs the hotel tries to persuade Mike from staying over night in that room informing him that many deaths have occured there and the room is Evil. Mike even more determined than ever manages to persuade Samuel L Jackson in letting him have the room for the night.

Little does Mike know, but the minute he enters the room he will embark on his most freightening life experience.

My verdict on the film:

I found the film enjoyable, but hard to fully understand the story and keep track on what was going on. The film has many twists which keep you watching to the very end.

Personally i wouldnt put this film in the horror catergory but there are a few jumpy moments. If you enjoy poltergiest or simillar films you will love this.

Summary: Not Samuel L Jacksons greatest film, but Ok
