The humour is sometimes very subtle so you have to look out for the jokes, and can take a while to get used to how its written, but once you do its very addictive and you can find yourself watching the whole two series in one sitting. If you are a fan of Sean Lock you will definetly like this as it has the same sort of humour, even some of the jokes in his stand up routine came from this series. £18 is quite alot for these DVDs but when you consider your getting both series for £9 each its not too bad. Premium Review 15 Storeys High: The Complete Series 1 & 2 (DVD): Classic Sean Lock (195 words)

I never saw this on TV, and if it wasnt for the DVD I would have missed it alltogether. I really dont know why the BBC dont reapeat it as its a work of genius by Sean Lock and the other writers. As other reviewers have said, this magnificent sit-com, written by stand-up comedians Sean Lock, Mark Trenaman and Mark Lamaar (under his real name of Mark Jones), has been cruely over-looked pretty much since it was first aired. The BBC never repeat it (even on BBC3), and there was a reasonably long wait for both series to appear on DVD. And yet, it is a wonderful piece of work, similar to "Peep Show" - but predating it by several years (the original radio version, which starred Lock, Kevin Eldon and Hattie "Holly from Red Dwarf" Heyridge, was broadcast in 1999). Imagine "Steptoe & Son" (or indeed, Rimmer and Lister from "Red ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review 15 Storeys High: The Complete Series 1 & 2 (DVD): The best comedy in a long time (351 words)
by - written on 12/03/09 (Very useful, 28 readings)
Rating:

When I saw this DVD set on sale I just had to buy it. I just can't believe how this comedy series has disappeared from the radar of so many people. It really is a travesty as, along with Peep Show, 15 Storeys High is the best comedy to appear on British TV for a decade, possibly longer. It really is that good. Dour, cynical lifeguard Vince, played by Sean Lock, takes in a lodger. Errol, played by Benedict Wong is unassuming, approachable and considerate, the absolute antithesis of Vince. As we progress through the first series we realise quickly that Vince is a loner with the tolerance and social grace of a cuckolded rhinocerus. Vince ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bleak and unusual, comedy genius (274 words)

This little known gem seems to have slipped through the net when it appeared on TV - I had certainly never heard of it until I picked up a cheap copy of the dvd in a sale and bought it on a whim. Its such a shame because every episode is absolute comedy genius and I'd like to recommend that everyone who appreciates good comedy give this one a shot. The story revolves around cynical Vince and his flatmate Errol, locked away together in a small flat in a London tower block. Written by Sean Lock (who also plays Vince), the episodes usually revolve around a slightly ridiculous storyline in which it is the wonderful character interaction which creates the humour. ...  Read the complete review
