Advantages: Zac Efron's great acting

Disadvantages: Quite short (about 90 mins)

Although I love High School Musical, it is essentially a kids film and I was looking for something a bit more grown up for my night in on my own (only a little bit more grown up mind you!). But after checking out a few dooyoo reviews I decided 17 Again was worth a try.

17 Again follows the story of Mike O'Donnell (Matthew Perry/Zac Efron). At the age of 17, Mike decided to forgo a possible career in basketball to marry his pregnant girlfriend, Scarlett. Now at the age of 37, he regrets all the sacrifices he made and his wife wants a divorce and his kids don't want to know him. Someone asks him if he wishes he could be back at the age of 17 and he says "Of course!", little knowing that his wish would be granted. Matthew Perry becomes Zac Efron and we get a classic Freaky Friday style film.

However, despite all the funny scenarios of Mike ending up in his teenage daughter's sex education class, Mike having a party around his "Dad's" house and Mike's "Dad" (best friend) trying to start a relationship with the school headteacher, there is a serious side to the film. Mike gets to know his kids properly and gets to know Scarlett again. He has to think about the sacrifices he made and if they were worth it.

17 Again has some great comedy moments, emotional times, fun soundtrack and good actors. I'd watch it again!
