A lot of films are watched by me, in fact some days it seems as if I do nothing else but watch films. I recently watched 27 dresses which I was looking forward to as I love Katherine Heigl and James Marsden so I had high hopes for this film. What I found was that it was only ok but still very watchable if you have nothing else to do. This review will tell you why.

So what is the film about? Jane is obsessed with weddings and the mantra always a bridesmaid never a bride does apply to her quite literally. You see she hasn't just been a bridesmaid three times but 27 times!! She just loves organising them and then getting credit for them and she just can't get enough although her own love life is not anything to be screaming about.

Jane is in love with her boss in a big way but when her sister comes to stay and then her boss falls in love with her, Jane struggles to want to organise her sisters wedding. In comes Kevin who knows that there is something dodgy about Jane and weddings and is determined to find out what.

So the story does sound ok and to be honest it is but there is nothing new to the formula. The story is funny at times but everything is quite predictable and it doesn't amaze. It follows a straight forward path and does manage to keep your attention from beginning to end but there are parts in the film where your mind waivers and you feel like you should give up with it.

I think the story could have done with a bit more originality and I would have liked it more.

The characters are ok but again nothing special as they are all very predictable in every single action they take in the film. There is a little bit of character development but they are all basically quite unbelievable and not particularly likeable which is a shame as I thought they would be. This is down to the script being quite weak.

Jane actually becomes annoying and her sister is just the same. Kevin is a weak person and you do not want what you know is going to happen in the film as they are a bit boring.

There is nothing wrong with the acting in this film as Katherine Heigl who plays Jane and James Marsden who plays Kevin are very apt at playing main characters. They just seem very stale in the film. I think they are good but with a weak script and a predictable story I just do not think they are shown to the full potential at all. I like them both usually but this film was just not my cup of tea.

The film is a 12 certificate which is about right and goes on for almost 2 hours which is a tad too long. There are some deleted scenes on the DVD and some features on wedding parties and Jane's world. They are all quite entertaining to watch. You can buy the DVD now for around £7 from places so not too much.

Now with all of my moaning about the film I bet you expect me to give it one star but I am going to give it 3 as although it is a bit stale and doesn't keep your attention throughout, it is still a fun film to watch. I watched it on a rainy Sunday afternoon and it kept me entertained. It is just a shame that you have seen it all before.

Thanks for reading.
