Advantages: Very gritty and real

Disadvantages: Not one to watch with kids!

This is a film-only review as, while I have the DVD, I rarely bother to look at extras!

Imagine if... animal activists freed some chimpazees which were being experimented on, and which carried a special virus. A RAGE virus. And then they were infected, and passed that infection on, until the whole country was being decimated by a virus which basically turned them into zombies.

And then imagine if one man had been in hospital, in a coma, and wakes up alone to find a world left in this state.

I love this film. It does gritty reality very very well - it's the sort of film you can finish saying "wow, okay, maybe that could actually happen". I love the survivors, the last few pockets of people clinging desperately onto life and hiding from the zombies, and I love most of all that not all of those left are what you might view as Good People.

It's an 18, and that's a rating well justified by the violence, language and implied attempted rape. Don't watch it with your kids in the room, but Amazon has it for £4.98, which makes it well-worth getting to watch with adults.

Summary: Stick to the 18 rating, but very enjoyable
