Thrilling (28 Days Later (DVD))

Advantages: very believable, good acting, keeps you on the edge of your seat Disadvantages: Makes you worry about swine flu mutating! This is a brilliant thriller/psychological thriller. Danny Boyle has captured an eeriness in this film that leaves you truly believing that this scenario could happen in real life. The acting is brilliant and almost has a fly on the wall look about it (but without the shaky camera). The story is about a 'rage' virus that is let loose when some chimpanzees (used for medical research) infected with it are let out by animal rights activists. When humans are infected they turn into zombie like creatures who attack other people. The virus is spread in blood, and takes seconds to turn the infected person. The story opens with Jim waking from a coma in a deserted hospital. He finds that London is completely deserted. They closed down a few of the roads in central London for this scene which is very eery. He gets chased by infected people but saved by some survivors. There starts the story of how they try to survive and make their way to safety, hoping somewhere in the country/world is safe from the virus. Summary: Brilliant film that keeps you on the edge of your seat |
