Shaun Of The Dead (DVD):
... was our introduction to Simon Pegg films, and it was an excellent start. He has made various TV shows in the past, but he really excells when it comes to movies, having made others after this too. The story is basically a comedy zombie fest, Simon plays a bit of an average guy that doesn t treat his girlfriend right. His best friend played by Nick Frost is the perfect side kick. The two are lazy pub loving guys... Read the full review: Fantastic light hearted comedy by mmayer99 |

Zombieland (DVD) ... have always been a huge fan of zombie films and who doesn t love a good comedy? So with little expectations of cinematic genius and more hope for a lighthearted giggle, I headed to the cinema to see Zombieland. Based in a world where mad cow disease has mutated and effected the mass populous, zombies are running wild in the USA and there are few who have managed to escape being infected or eaten alive. "Columbus" is one of the lucky few, with his key rules of survival; he plays it safe to ensure he isn t turned into one of the undead. He is joined by Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock along the way and the story follows the 4 as they try to survive and he... Friday The 13th [1980] (DVD) ... Friday 13, 1958 two lakeside camp counsellors were brutally murdered by an unknown killer. 22 years later on Friday 13 June the camp is set to open despite local fears regarding the camp being cursed. According to one driver, who gives one of the new counsellors a ride halfway to the camp, a young boy, Jason Voorhees, drowned in the lake one year prior the murders. That very day, one-by-one the new counsellors are picked off and brutally slain by an unseen killer until only one person remains to discover the terrible truth of Camp Crystal Lake... And that really is it as far as plot goes without spoiling anything. Friday the 13th and its incredibly successful series ... The Fifth Element (DVD) ... he certainly doesn t have much of an arsenal of acting abilities, there is something all too likable about Bruce Willis. He exudes coolness, and is somehow strangely authentic and believable in any role he takes. Still, even for him this is a role that pushes the boundaries. He stars as Korben, a cab driver in the future who ends up protecting a mysterious alien woman from the forces that seek to catch her. This is a sci-fi film, yet it doesn t feel like one. There s something about it that helps it to transcend those barriers - probably the action filled plot and the striking character of Leeloo. Whatever it is, it s got more of an action adn adventure feel to it... Read the full review: Bruce Willis meets sci-fi by bruffyboy |
