I saw this movie on LoveFilm, decided to add it to my list and eventually the movie arrived. Being a personal fan of anything Zombie I thought it would be worth watching, and on the most part it was perfectly fine viewing. However it certainly is not something worth buying, as it is not a great movie.
Story (May contain spoilers)
The movie starts out showing a meteor shower happening while a group of homeless gather by storm drains. Little is made of this initially as we now go and meet a gang who are going to be making a huge drug deal. During their trip to the rendezvous they we also get introduced to the other side of the deal who are hanging around a convenience store and cause a bit hassle for a weather reporter and his girl. The movie is very disjointed upon us meeting these groups, not exactly done in the best way, i.e. it is obvious they are all going to play some major part of this movie.
We now meet at the drug deal site where bothy gangs meet and discover they've actually been set up by the middle party as a person hooking them together, rather than him being able to make the purchase/do the sale. We also then meet the NARC cops outside whom have an inside man and are waiting to bust everyone involved.
The deal is going down, the cops are called in by the two NARCs' yet the cops arriving are crashing all over the place... they've been intercepted by zombies. The zombies being drawn by the noise of the sirens are all gathering around this abandoned warehouse where the deal is going down. The two NARCs' rush to get into the building for their own safety, so now we have 2 rival gangs really annoyed at being set up together, a couple of cops all having to try and work together to survive and see if they can escape.
What acting? It was really pretty basic acting, nothing over the top, and it didn't even feel like they were having fun.
Typical zombie special effects, nothing spectacular
This movie drew me in initially by the title 48 Weeks Later.... Thinking this might be something worth watching due to the 2 movies 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks later. Be warned this movie has absolutely nothing to do with those movies. Overall I am glad I watched it as I aim to watch as many movies as I can.... However it really was a waste of my time, this movie was very slow, it had a typical story line and very little explanation of what had happened, why or the resulting escapades after they managed to escape.
Do not watch this movie unless there really is nothing else on, and certainly do not pay to watch this.
