I've always liked Eminem's music so I thought I should definitely watch the movie when it was released. Starrin Eminem as the main character and with Kim Basinger, Brittany Murphy and Mekhi Phifer, the film has many big names. The film is set in Detroit and shows the struggles of some up and coming hip hop artists who are trying to make it big and get out of the bad area they live in. Eminem's character, Rabbit, lives in a trailer park and he desperately wants to get out, and the onl way he sees he can do that is through his rhymes. The film contains many battles between the stars and also contains a love story beneath it. I would recommend 8 MIle to anyone who enjoys hip-hop music and is interested in the underground hip-hop scene. For people who aren't fans of rapping I would give the film a miss as it is full of rapping.
