P.S. I Love You (DVD):
... i read the book which made me cry and i am always alittle worried about seeing a film after reading a book. But i have to say i was pleasantly suprised. Like the book it made me laugh and cry all at the same time. The basic plot is that her husband dies and he wants her to move on with her life and he helps her do this by sending little notes of things he wants her to do over a year. (already pre arranged as he ... Read the full review: romantic tear jerker by rieriej |

Night Of The Demon [1980] (DVD) ... review of just the film. Vipco did a (cut) DVD release of this, but it s currently out of print, so you d need to import. This is not to be confused with the classic 1950s MR James adaptation Night of the Demon, a very different kettle of fish. This is a video nasty from 1980 about a particularly unfriendly Bigfoot. An anthropology professor and his dull students trek off into the woods to try and find the creature (I m not sure why). There s a *lot* of killing. It s one of those ultra-simple backwoods horror plots that serves as an excuse to splash the red stuff around as much as possible. There s a brief subplot about a Bigfoot-worshipping cult that goes precisely no... Read the full review: Bigfoot wants your penis! by hogsflesh |

Saw 4 (DVD) ... IV is the fourth film in the Saw series, and follows the trend of the first three, with mastermind sadist Jigsaw bending the rules and playing a deadly game with the police and unsuspecting members of the public. Background In the previous Saw films, we have seen the character known as Jigsaw play games by kidnapping people and putting them into lose-lose situations, letting them decide which track to take. He is a sadist wanted by the authorities for a number of gruesome murders, and the films are very darkly made. The Plot Jigsaw and his young apprentice Amanda are dead. Yet the games are far from over, as it appears there is someone else on the bandwagon. Polic... Read the full review: Jigsaw's games from beyond the grave...... by pmcds |

I Am Legend (DVD) ... movie has some quite good set pieces and Smith does manage to hold his own in a film where like tom hanks before him, he is largely required to maintain the audiences interest alone. Where the movie suffers however is from a lack of originality, the "infected" seem to be the same models from I robot repainted and the whole movie is just another Zombie flick crossed with castaway. The slow loss of Smith s humanity as he is isolated from society is interesting to watch as he struggles to keep his grip on reality, but ultimately the movie suffers from a rushed, "feel good" ending. The Dvd includes some quite interesting featurettes and an alternate e... Read the full review: An okay attempt by youvegotredonyou |
