Panic Room (DVD) ... to start? It s a robbery movie that never gets started but soon devolves into a hostage film and the robbery is soon forgotten. A builder who doesn t know his own product (Forest Whitaker playing Burnham doesn t seem know about the intercom in the room outside the panic room door), a diabetic child using an antique hypo (she d use a spring loaded one, these are designed for kids!) also she s a diabetic who doesn t carry chocolate and her mother doesn t either? I think not! The fact that the diabetic idea is introduced so LATE in the film, prior to that most of us would have thought they just keep checking her watch to see how long it takes the police to come, 911... The Strangers (DVD) ... me preface this with a small story: I headed down to Fright Fest expecting some pretty scary flicks. I saw that this here flick was on the bill, but was not excited by it. Not one bit. So I sat through film after film (27 to be exact), and this one was somewhere in the middle. Now, I am a big burly man but this film scared the gunk out of me! The scares are cheap, the cheapest scares I have ever witnessed. The soundtrack rockets to eleven as the masked villain pops up from nowhere. Scary indeed. The film has fantastic cinematography, the mood is pitch perfect for the movie. The scares are on an unrelenting power attack, assaulting you from all angles and filling your ... Blade: Trinity (DVD) ... trinity bought an amazing conclusion to a brilliant trilogy and is in my opinion one of the best vampire films ever made. I was on the edge of my seat watching this film and there wasn t a dull moment. The Film Story This is where the blade trilogy fails a little bit, every movie seemed to have the same storyline dressed up in different characters and locations: The vampires are scared of blade so they try to obtain some kind of super-vampire to kill him but he ends up killing it.
