Psycho [1960] (DVD) ... film has achieved such a level of cult status that I remember being so excited when I finally got to watch it. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, it tells the tale of a young woman who runs away with $40,000 of stolen money, only to move into the chaotic hotel of a mad man and his mother. Well, first off in terms of plot, this film is a really good one. A gripping thriller, it is so full of twists and turns that it keeps you guessing, and is as original as you can get. It contains a dark and sinister mood the whole way through, although I don t think it could be called a horror by today s standards.
