Slumdog Millionaire (DVD) ... so before I even begin this review I feel I need to tell you that this is a film only review as I watched this film on the plane home from my Honeymoon and I do not own the DVD so have not watched any features. I m not sure what I expected from the film but I certainly was surprised when watching it as it was crazy. I thought I was going to watch a nice little film but it was a horrible film really and a mad portrayal of a guy playing who wants to be a millionaire. I still loved it though and here is why. Notting Hill (DVD) ... is a romantic comedy that stars Hugh Grant as a simple book-shop owner, who falls in love with Anna Scott, the most famous actress in the world. I am not really a soppy person, but I love this film! There s something about it that works for me, and luckily for you I know what it is. The thing I love about it is the way it is believable; the Anna Scott character (played by Julia Roberts) is really just Julia Roberts. The issue of famous people living restricted lives but being real and nice people underneath the paparrazi is really appealing, and this film explores it brilliantly. Love Happens (DVD) ... I m a fan of Jennifer Aniston and I also like Aaron Eckharts work so I thought this looked like a good film to see. From the trailers it looked like a happy go lucky romantic comedy - right up my street. This film is not happy go lucky at all! And it s more of a drama than a romantic comedy. I thought the film was OK but not what I was expecting at all. All the romantic bits (there is one kiss in the whole film by the way) are in the trailer as are all the funny bits.
