Firefly - The Complete Series (DVD):
... Why did have to end? Firefly was, hands down, the best sci fi show ever. It took all the usual clichés and threw them out the airlock (except it wouldn t actually do that it because that would be a cliché) Firefly isn t really even Sci fi, it s a western set in space. The West Wing - The Complete Season 2 (DVD) ... you caught it on TV or not, any season of the West Wing is worth having on DVD. It s snappy, stylish, incredibly polished and features some of the best acting you ll see on TV. It s something I m always prepared to watch again. Season 2 opens on a roll with the follow up from season 1 s cliffhanger, and moves though a series of brilliantly conceived episodes to an unforgettable cliffhanger ending. The west wing conspires to play your emotions like a fiddle, it can be thought provoking, emotional, uplifting and comical. The Wire - The Complete Second Season (DVD) ... the Wire Season 2, it s the same old song, but with a different feeling since you ve been gone. This lyric refers to the theme song of the Wire which has changed slightly since season 1, but more than that, to the changes in the crime scenes covered in the programme. Troubles remain from last season in terms of the drug dealing and associated crimes going on in the towers and the pit. But in addition, there are more problems for the Major Crimes Unit, mostly surrounding the stevedores and union bosses that work on the Baltimore docks. Stop Making Sense (DVD) ... Heads Stop Making Sense is one of the greatest live DVD s you ll ever see. All the songs and musicians are incredible. But strangely, this isn t the biggest draw. Stop Making Sense demonstrates a feeling of enjoyment and euphoria on stage that many other bands seem to lack. There s no feeling here of over inflated egos trying to dominate the stage, there s no overwhelming light show. It s a show that s brilliantly fun, funky and dance-able and at times hilarious, especially for the famous David Byrne Big Suit and dances. The show does not use excessive quick cuts, or focus a great deal on the instruments or audience, which means the energy is far more apparant....
