The film is therefore based on true events but there are some inaccuracies so you should not believe everything that happens in the film! The film was made in 1963 but is still on every Christmas! The Grea... Read the full review: A Classic War Film! by ns1209 |

Inglourious Basterds (DVD) ... ever a director has suffered a steep decline from the very summit of Hollywood its Quentin Tarantino. How did we get from Pulp Fiction to Death Proof?? He didn t even have time to plant his flag pole he slid down the other side that fast. What on Earth was that self parody Kill Bill nonsense all about! The geeky ex video store worker who dreamed of becoming an actor but burdened with a face for radio (even Morse code) astounded the independent film scene in the early 1990s with the brilliant and uber cool Reservoir Dogs and became the darling of the European film circuit with Pulp Fiction. But since then I have struggled with nearly everything he s done, dare I say i... Read the full review: Tarantino wins on penalties! by thedevilinme |

Inglourious Basterds (DVD) ... most recent film by acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino, the "Inglorious Basterds" are a group of ruthless undercover Jewish American soldiers fighting in Nazi occupied France. Their story is also intertwined with those of Shoshanna (Melanie Laurent), a French-Jewish girl and the lone survivor of a mass murder conducted by the "Jew Hunter" Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz) and Lt. Archie Hickox (Michael Fassbender) a British film critic chosen to head "Operation Kino". Like a lot of his films, it s spli... Read the full review: Inglourious Basterds by SmilingBuddha |

Perhaps the fact it was directed by the master of overkill Quentin Tarantino escaped him. He was still convinced that it was a comedy and spent the first ten minutes pointing out it wasn t very funny. It wasn t until the first of several thousand corpses that he concluded it was going to be anything but funny and went to bed in disgust leaving me to watch what turned ...
