A well made movie with a great story - The Bronx (A Bronx Tale (DVD))

Advantages: Acting, Set, Story. All excellent.

Disadvantages: Strong language.

A Bronx Tale is one of my favourite films. I'm not sure why but it is a great story on how impressions can affect a small child and impact on the way he develops as a man.

The film centres on a boy who gets named as "C" by Sonny, a "Made man", the location of the movie is set in the Bronx, an Italian neighbour hood. They don't like outsiders as you learn throughout the film. This isn't good for what happens later on..

C is a good guy, has respect for his father who is a lowly paid bus driver, and has an equal respect for the lifestyle Sonny and Co live. He believes the "working man is a chump" and knows he can make a lot more money faster than being "straight". Robert De Niro is superb in this film, he plays the strict loving father down to a T. He only wants the best for his son, and for him to grow up to be a decent respectable man who knows the value of money and life.

So the story unfolds and you see the consequences of the characters actions. I think this film deserves to be in anyone's movie collection. It isn't a straight up action flick, it has a great story, and one can take a lot away from it.

Summary: A touching story about how a boy develops into a man.. Well worth watching.
