I was going to sort of clip and undermine my dislike for The Haunting in the Connecticut by explaining how I was just in a bad mood that day and I didn't give the film a proper ******* viewing or whatever but then I thought that wasn't me being in a bad mood that was just a **** day, topped off with a **** film and my general ****** off attitude was proportionate and appropriate. Stupid bloody Wednesday. So the film starts with this montage of photographs of Victorian people looking grim in sepia and some photos of dead people. Big deal. If I was watching this on DVD I would have flicked past this. It's been done. I'm not scared by photographs and okay the ... Read the complete review

This is apparently based on a true story, but being somewhat suspicious I decided to find out a bit about it. Apparently in 1986, Allen and Carmen Snedeker and their four children rented an old house in Southington, Connecticut. They found mortician's tools in the basement and found out it had once been a mortuary. The eldest son started having visions and seeing ghosts and the experiences soon spread to other members of the family. They called in ghost hunters Ed and Lorraine Warren who ... Read the complete review

I watched this film on Saturday night with my other half. Personally I am a complete wuss and honestly this film scared me more than any other horror I can think of in recent years. I think the fact that it is (allegedly) based on a true story freaked me out even more. I also did not know until we watched this that Connecticut is actually pronounced kuh-net-ee-cut and the second C is silent. Just thought I would share that with you as my husband made me feel a right idiot for not already knowing this. Anyway, this film was released in 2009 and was directed by Peter Cornwell who is relatively unknown. Plot ==== The film is ... Read the complete review

***Why I watched The Haunting In Connecticut*** As an avid horror fan I try to watch any new horror films to see if I can add them to my collection. I mostly go the the cinema with the girls if the film seems really good otherwise I just wait for it to be released on dvd. Unfortunately my partner does not share my enthusiasm in horror films! I enjoyed the trailer for this film and the fact it was allegedly based on a true story so I headed to the cinema with the girls. ***The cast*** Kyle Gallner as Matt Campbell (Veronica Mars, Jennifers Body) Virginia Madsen as Sara Campbell (The Candy Man, ... A review of just the film, The Haunting in Connecticut was produced in 2009 and released on region 2 DVD in July the same year. This is not to be confused with the 2002 production A Haunting in Connecticut, also available on DVD. Teenager Matt Campbell is suffering from cancer, his treatment taking place in a hospital in Connecticut many hundreds of miles from home. As his condition worsens, the travelling becomes more and more intolerable and his mother, Sara, is forced to consider renting a second family home in Connecticut, where they can live until Matt ceases his treatment. Sara eventually finds a beautiful old house and quickly decides to move in to save ... Read the complete review
