 ... I'm no historian, but thats why its so great. Its catered for an adult audience that may not be previously clued up on britains history. Each episode spans a few centuries of history, and is presented as a mixture of narration from Simon Shama, and dramatisation of scenes that occured at the time. Almost as entertaining as the history is Simon himself.....with his wobbly head (watch him when he speaks), and obvious passion. I have rented this series through Lovefilm and have been gradually been watching it over the past few months, disc by disc. i can't really comment on the packaging of the box set, as i have been sent each dvd individually through the post. However, I can say that my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the series. I'm no historian, but thats why its so great. These come in a 6 DVD set, with 3 episodes per DVD, plus a final disc with additional features.
