On a helicopter ride they discover a beautiful and secluded beach which you can only reach by a long hike over the mountains and through the jungle. Along the way they meet some other hikers - Kale and Cleo, another newlywed couple who have some serious anger issues, and Nick and Gina, a vivacious couple who they immediately hit it off with and decide to complete the hike with them. But when Cliff and Cydney hear of a newly married couple who have been murdered on a nearby island by another couple, the pair begin to suspect those around them. Will they make it ... It's not immediately apparent in the beginning of either film. A Perfect ... Read the complete review

note: also appears in part on Flixster and The Student Room The horror and thriller genre has become quite a tired outing these days, resorting to cliches and twists that don't make any sense. A Perfect Getaway, however, is a different beast altogether; it subtly subverts the audience's expectations of the genre, providing a compelling mystery that has a rather satisfying, and unexpected payoff. It's also well acted and cleverly directed. The film's protagonists are Cliff (Steve Zahn) and Cydney (Milla Jovovich), two newlyweds who are holidaying away at a remote beach in Hawaii, at which point they meet a few strange couples, including Gina (Kiele ...
