As everyone knows the title is a misnomer, Abbott & Costello don't meet Frankenstein. Wilbur & Chick meet The Monster. Playing delivery men, they are asked to deliver crates containing The Frankenstein Monster & a coffin containing the remains of Count Dracula to a local House Of Horrors thus setting the scene for the rest of the movie. Prior to delivery Wilbur had been called by Talbot (Lon Chaney) who tries to warn him of the contents but becomes The Wolfman. Wilbur is left alone with the coffin opening slightly several times & Dracula (Bela Lugosi) climbs out & has to hide himself in the shadows when Chick returns to show the ... Read the complete review

a.k.a. Abbott and Costello Meet the Ghosts (1948) a.k.a. Brain of Frankenstein, The (1948) a.k.a. Meet the Ghosts (1948) Fifty two years after its debut Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein is still a fun film and, in my ever so humble opinion (ahem), the best one that Abbott and Costello have ever made. Much of the film’s draw is due solely to the horror actors playing it straight, the movie managed to be funny without ridiculing the monsters. The pacing of the film is wonderful, it simply flows, and the combination of comedy with the subtle hint of horror work better in this flick than in many modern comedy-horror films nowadays. This movie ... Read the complete review

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. ============================ ~Introduction~ The wonderful Abbot and Costello are here in probably their best film. They get to poke fun at not just Frankenstein (Glenn Strange) but also Dracula (Bela Lugosi) and the Wolfman (Lon Chaney Jr.). Get ready for a timeless rib tickling comedic fest. ~Synopsis~ Abbott and Costello are baggage handlers until that is a rather strange package turns up, Dracula! He has brought with him a weakened Frankenstein monster and soon decides that Abbots brain would do nicely inside of Frankenstein head, well, Abbot is understandably ... Read the complete review

Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein is the first and best of a series of eight movies in which the duo went on to meet a variety of different Hollywood mosters. Spoofing the campy horror movies of the 30s and 40s this was hugely popular at the time of its release although looking at it today it may be hard to tell what exactly the draw was for an adult audience. Times change, so do does comedy it would appear, but nevertheless its still quite watchable but perhaps mainly only suited to children these days. Abbott and Costello play two railway porters who unwittingly deliver the undead bodies of Frankenstein's monster and count Dracula to a wax museum where ... Read the complete review

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. --------------------------------------------------- I remember first seeing this when I was a kid, it was even a repeat then, I am not that old! Bud Abbott and Lou Costello are working at a train station as baggage handlers when a very odd looking character gets off the train and offers them extras cash to get his cases and trunks up to a scary and deserted house way out in the middle of nowhere. The boys take the bags and crates up to the mansion only to discover that it is actually Dracula and Frankenstein. Dracula wants to swap Lous brain and put it into Frankenstein! The usual ...
