Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein and the Mummy.
A double bill of the wacky and crazy, Abbott and Costello.
They get to poke fun at not just Frankenstein (Glenn Strange) but also Dracula (Bela Lugosi), the Wolfman (Lon Chaney Jr.) and in the second film at The Mummy.
Get ready for a timeless rib tickling comedic fest.
Abbott and Costello are baggage handlers until that is a rather strange package turns up, Dracula!
He has brought with him a weakened Frankenstein monster and soon decides that Lous brain would do nicely inside of Frankenstein head, well, Lou is understandably not too keen on this and so begins 90 Minutes of pure comedic fun.
Meanwhile the Wolfman arrives from London with plans of destroying Dracula.
But Dracula bites the Wolfmans girlfriend and captures Abbott, it is then up to Costello and the Wolfmans girlfriend to find and free Abbott.
And then the moon rises and all hell is let loose as Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman are running free whilst Abbott and Costello are just running for their lives.
The boys are skint and so go looking for a job with a well know Egyptologist, however when he is mysteriously murdered they find themselves involved in the hunt for a magical medallion, a scary mummy and a gang of crooks.
Lou manages to swallow the medallion, as you do!
And so becomes the focus of the gangs and the mummies attention with hilarious results.
Don't look now but there are three mummies and their all after Lou.
Probably their best film ever, shot at the height of their popularity.
This film is a cracker, they jokes and puns come thick and fast.
Bela Lugosi is his usual menacing self, Lon Chaney Jr is more scruffy mongrel than Wolfman and Glenn Strange is a not very scary Frankenstein.
Abbott and Costello are absolutely fantastic; they make the movie a special and hilarious romp.
The mummy film was the last of their "meets monster" films, made in 1955
It is a riotous farce with all their trade mark, disappearing corpses, mistaken identities and fast talking patter.
The pyramid is the cheapest set I've ever seen but that just makes it funnier.
Sadly the boys only made one more movie after this called, Dance with Me, Henry and then they split up.
