... kind of movie can ever work. As soon as someone tries to add a plot to them you realise just how damn stupid these movies are and the more convoluted they try to make it the worse it gets. Iron Eagle could never be accused of having a convoluted plot, but it does try to be a little too clever for its own good and with such intellectual non-entities behind the scenes, clever is what it is anything but. In fact 'ludicrous' plot is a f...more

Premium Review Aces: Iron Eagle III (DVD): Makes Top Gun Look Like Film Of The Decade (1242 words)

Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, had to get that off my chest, having just sat through(well ok I did pick up a magazine by halfway) what must surely rate as one of the most appauling movies made in the 90s. Iron Eagle 3 is one of the reasons that movie sequels have such a bad name. The original concept of Iron Eagle was little more than a lame attempt to cash in on the success of Top Gun by showing fighter jets whizzing about doing fighter jet type things with ever-so macho pilots being very manly and testosterony all over the place. Premium Review Aces: Iron Eagle III (DVD): Eagles are graceful aren't they? (138 words)
by - written on 26/10/00 (Useful, 53 readings)
Rating:

This is the third out of four in the Iron Eagles series and it really is very dull. It's such a typical sequel movie and doesn't really offer anything wonderful to the viewer. The main guy (Louis Gossett Jr) discovers a drug ring in his air base, and then gets wrapped up in saving peoples lives in Peru where the drugs are from. He thus, goes on a ridiculous mission to save them all, and be the hero. The film doesn't hold up very well, and no-one in it plays a part that you will remember for anytime longer than the film lasts. It is a shame as the first one was ok, the second was a bit worst, but this one probably should of been rejected ...  Read the complete review
