note: also appears in part on Flixster and The Student Room The first Addams Family film, adapted from the famed TV show, was a big hit, and spawned this sequel, which injected a nice touch on the original concept, introducing Joan Cusack's brilliant babysitter character. The film continues where the original film left off, with Gomez (Raul Julia) and Morticia (Anjelica Huston) now preparing to have another child. After Wednesday (Christina Ricci) and Pugsley begin to scare away every babysitter put in front of them, the parents have one final effort, with a strict but pleasant nanny, Debbie Jellinsky (Joan Cusack on top form), who seems to be able ... DER-DER-DER-DUDERDER DER-DER-DER-DUDERDER DER-DER-DER-DUDERDER THE ADDAMS FAMILY click click Cinematic magic with ghoulish overtones, a stylishly horrific second episode in the Addams Family brand, and one of those rarest of things, a sequel which actually manages to surpass its predecessor. The splendid Gothic black humour of the original American black and white comedy series was always going to be a very hard act to follow, but unbelievably they managed it with the first film. It was certainly pushing it to think that lightning could possibly strike a second time, but astonishingly it did and Addams Family Values is an enormous over ... Read the complete review

The second film about the weird Addams family. Morticia (Anjelica Huston) and Gomez (Ray Julia) have a new son called Pubert. Wednesday(Christina Ricci) and Pugsley (Jimmy Workman) decide to have some fun with their new brother for example seeing if he bounces when thrown off the roof. So Morticia and Gomez decide to hire a nanny, called Debbie (Joan Cusack). She doesn't mind the strange customs of the Addams's or their gothic house. But is Debbie what she looks like. She gets Morticia and Gomez to send Wednesday and Pugsley off to summer camp, and gets Fester (Christopher Llyod) to fall in love with her. Whilst at summer camp Wednesday and Pugsley are ... So The Addams Family film was so successful that this sequel was almost a foregone conclusion. But how can it possibly live up to the first film? Well it does, and I shall explain why. First the synopsis. Fester is now settled into the family, and the happy news which ended the first film: Morticia's pregnancy (with supposedly 3 legs we were lead to believe!) has now materialised at the beginning of this film into her giving birth to a new addition to the family. "Is it a boy?" "Is it a girl?" "It's an Addams" The baby, appropriately called Pubert and with only 2 legs we are relieved to find out, goes home but the ... Read the complete review

The Addams Family have always been on of my favourites. This film is just as good as I had expected. The plot isn't up to much and there's not really a lot going on but the actors and the directing make this a very funny film. The beautiful gothic mansion where the family lives and the gothic background music set the scene for these crazy characters. Uncle Fester is played by Christopher Lloyd who keeps a straight face and his eyes say it all. Aunt Morticia says it with her eyes too. A light sweeps across them and hi-lights that wicked look. This is excellent directing. In this film a new baby arrives on the scene and Morticia and Gomez ... Read the complete review
