I actually saw this film before I had seen the first one but this did not stop me enjoying a wonderfully over the top comedy with the wacky and rather creepy Addams Family. This was a balck and white comedy TV show in the past which I have seen a couple of times however the film is far more entertaining.

The Addams family are a strange group who are obsessed with the macabre, Anjelica Huston stars as the mother Morticia (what a great name) who wears long tight black gowns and has a pale complexion with jet black hair, every Goth male fantasy I guess. Her husband is the equally dark Gomez played by the brilliant Raul Julia.

The family has just had another addition to the fold following the birth of their third child, there is no doubt as to who is the father as the baby has the same facial hair as Gomez. They hire a nanny played by Joan Cusack who it turns out is a gold digger and axe murderer who sets her sights on the shy Uncle Fester as her next target.

I found myself laughing all of the way through this film, it really is a riot, Wednesday and Pugsley the two older children are hilarious and the lines are delivered dead pan.

Visually the film is good with some nice special effects especially the walking hand Thing which looks really cool.

Definately a fun film that I would really recommend.
